BLACK & WHITE DESERT (1 NIGHT / 2 DAYS)
Explore Tours
The Black Desert, located in the Bahariya Oasis, gets its name from ancient volcanic activity that covered the area with black powder and stones. Jebel El Marsous (or El Marsous Mountain) offers stunning views of this unique landscape. History enthusiasts can explore the Valley of Golden Mummies, a vast burial site dating back to the Greco-Roman era. Bahariya Oasis is also known for its hot and cold springs, including the fascinating E’in El Serw spring from Roman times.
On the other hand, the White Desert, situated about 20 km northeast of Farafra town and 370 km south of Cairo, is a mesmerizing depression. Its iconic rock formations—made of calcium, quartz, or limestone—resulted from ancient ocean retreat, leaving behind stunning landscapes. Crystal Mountain and the Valley of Agabat are other enchanting stops during a weekend trip to this area. Designated a natural protectorate in 2002, the White Desert is a must-see for travelers seeking otherworldly beauty.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.

This is the best tour on the east coast! It was amazing how many places we visited and what great memories we made!
